RPGaDay 2024 - Day 2 - Most recently played

Image
Day 2 of RPGaDay 2024 entails discussing the topic of Most recently played. This probably refers to my most recently played RPG. That TTRPG would have to be Castles & Crusades in the World of Paramoor. Incoming Plug! Y'all can catch me over on three RPG Channels on YouTube. First up, you can catch me on my good friend Tabletop Junkie's YouTube channel, where I play many characters, but in Castles & Crusades, I have been playing Lord Alarik Westmayne. Catch me on Tabletop Junkie's channel here.  https://www.youtube.com/@TabletopJunkieGames Then you can catch me on alternating Sundays on T-Shirted Historian's Channel, where, among other things, currently streams Worlds without Number, Cities without Number system mashup that myself, Grim Jim, and others play in. Catch me over here.  https://www.youtube.com/@t-shirtedhistorian Finally, you can catch me on the other Sundays playing all kinds of RPGs, but right now, Fabula Ultima is this Sunday. Catch me on GrimStr

RPGaDay 2024 Day 1 - First RPG you Bought this year

Image
Days late, yet still ready to pump some #Content ™ . Day one's task is to note down and talk about the first RPG I bought this year. I don't count the PDFs I got for this, so the first RPG I bought this year was Gallant Knight Games' Zorro Roleplaying Game. From what I recollect of my readthrough, Zorro was pretty great, especially as a brand-new iteration of the D6 system. More thoughts on the Zorro RPG in an upcoming review.

The Chronicles of Afterlight - Post Apocalyptic Far Future Medieval fantasy Setting

Image
Today, I introduce my long-time phantasmal reverie of The Chronicles of Afterlight. Imagine a world that is our Earth but an alternate one far across the cosmic void between universes. In this alternate Earth in the late 21st century, more precisely, August 23rd, 2093 C.E., a tear in the fabric of reality occurred. Experiments in Hyperspace pylons lead to rifts into the void between worlds. These experiments didn't immediately destroy civilization; however, the daemonic entities' insidious corruption of people in power from the void began. Over the next 60 years, life became all the worse for everyone and everything on Earth. The tremendous social progress society had made in the 20th and 21st centuries slowly but indeed got stripped away. The power to change society was left in the irreparably damaged hands of contemptible, chaos-corrupted politicians and demagogues. The ecological damage caused by the Industrial Revolution and its after-effects continued after decades of rep

In Memoriam - Azrimmyr Bronzehammer

Image
2 weeks ago I played my last session in C&C with the first character I played in C&C, Azrimmyr Bronzehammer. Azrimmyr was a dwarven Noble of Clan Bronzehammer. He was among the first of his Clan to join as a chosen cleric of Morg the Creator, God of the Forge and God of Law, King of the Gods, who manifests as a Dwarf. Ultimately however after months of adventuring and gaining much fame and fortune, he found himself with his party in the forest of Kriton in the land of Kokestos. Kokestos is an alien culture compared to the land of Evermoor. Whereas Evermoor is an egalitarian culture, Kokestos is a Matriarchy where men are forced to stay indoors after nightfall. All women in Kokestos are in positions of power and conflict. The issue also lies in the fact that there is an Evil Cleric in Kokestos who is spreading chaos and evil. Through Kokestos Azrimmyr and Shadow Wolf trudged until they finally saw the eaves of the Forest of Kriton. As the duo entered they traveled for a few ho
