The Chronicles of Afterlight - Post Apocalyptic Far Future Medieval fantasy Setting

Today, I introduce my long-time phantasmal reverie of The Chronicles of Afterlight. Imagine a world that is our Earth but an alternate one far across the cosmic void between universes. In this alternate Earth in the late 21st century, more precisely, August 23rd, 2093 C.E., a tear in the fabric of reality occurred. Experiments in Hyperspace pylons lead to rifts into the void between worlds. These experiments didn't immediately destroy civilization; however, the daemonic entities' insidious corruption of people in power from the void began. Over the next 60 years, life became all the worse for everyone and everything on Earth. The tremendous social progress society had made in the 20th and 21st centuries slowly but indeed got stripped away. The power to change society was left in the irreparably damaged hands of contemptible, chaos-corrupted politicians and demagogues. The ecological damage caused by the Industrial Revolution and its after-effects continued after decades of repair. With the loss of women's bodily autonomy, more women died, and the population began to outpace the sustainable growth that Humanity had accomplished in the mid to late 21st century. Near the end, daemonic chaos cults began to operate openly, hunting and sacrificing the dispossessed lower class. Fabulous altars to gods whispered of in dark aeons started to be built or rebuilt. Powers thought to be only fiction began to be practiced by the population, especially among the hated upper classes. Ultimately, all of this mass chaos led to a singular war as biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons were unleashed on the Earth by the insane world leaders. Life on Earth was assuredly dying, and much of it was dead.

Two centuries later, Humanity was a debauched, mutated magickal society eking out an existence primarily in the Americas. Starvation, deprivation, slavery, and other monstrous acts were practiced or inflicted on the hardscrabble remnants of Humanity. Only by the light of the beings once known as the Fair Folk did the cosmic force of Law intrude upon Earth's dark, chaos-filled mire in the year 2364 C.E. The Fair Folk cured the sickness of a weary Humanity. They uplifted them into the force of Civilization and Goodness. As the centuries war on, Humanity began to recover from its primitive savagery and became what could only be described as a Pseudo-Medieval Mindset and society. Heralding much of this change was a group of Humans in the former state of Texas in the ruins of The United States of America. This civilization of the citizenry, The Texas Rangers, and their liege lords of The Kingdom of Texas began to change for the better, and they brought much of their light to much of the ruins of North America in the centuries to come.

It is now 2656 of the 9th Aeon, and dark tidings are afoot. What will the forces of Law be doing as the tides of chaos begin to fill the gaps left by the death of the rightful king of Texas?
